Annapolis, MD (October 13, 2011) — In celebration of a full year of partnership between Ellen Allen Annapolis and the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore, Ellen Allen Annapolis hosted a luncheon for the community on Thursday, October 13th at Chartwell Golf and Country Club in Severna Park, MD. More than one hundred and sixty attendees were able to enjoy a seated luncheon, keynote by Ellen Allen, and shop a trunk show by Ellen Allen Annapolis featuring the Chesapeake Collection and freshly introduced fall and holiday products.

All proceeds from ticket sales, an auction, and trunk show profits were donated to the House for direct operational support for families.

As a design professional and mother, Ellen Allen Annapolis’s totes and handbags are constructed of an easily cleaned cotton fabric, effortlessly organized and vibrantly printed to complement an active and chic lifestyle. Ellen Allen Annapolis believes strongly in the “fabric” of community as well, and has been a consistent donor to numerous organizations since launching the company in 2009. In late 2010 Ellen Allen Annapolis designated the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore its charity of choice, donating a portion of every sale to the operating budget of the House.

“The Ronald McDonald House does the heavy lifting for so many families seeking medical care for a child,” said Ellen Allen, Founder and CEO, Ellen Allen Annapolis. “This becomes home for families from all over Maryland, around the US, and all over the world seeking the best care for their children. The Ronald McDonald House provides prepared meals, clean and quiet spaces for decompressing at the end of a difficult day, and a happy and safe place for kids to just be kids. Home is where the heart is, and this House has a really big heart!”

Now in its 30th year, the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore serves 36 families each night, 365 days per year and is 100% community funded. It has provided a home away from home for over 30,000 families since being founded, and is always finding niche ways to serve families.

“Ellen Allen is as amazing as the handbags she designs. We are honored that a local Maryland business wants to support us and the over 1,200 families we serve each year,” said Sandy Pagnotti, Executive Director of the Baltimore Ronald McDonald House. “We rely on our community to sustain us. Ellen Allen Annapolis understands that and with their support, this truly is The House That Love Built. We look forward to partnering with Ellen Allen Annapolis on even more events benefiting our House.”

The Eastport tote (named after the prime location for boating in Annapolis) retails for $250 at ellenallen.com. You can also pick out a stylish scarf (we suggest the Boxwood, $70) to tie to the handle of your bag!
